Three-volume "Collection of works" of M.N. Khangalov was issued again in 45 years. It was firstly edited in 1958-1960 to the 100th anniversary of the scientist’s birth. The edition is issued in new art and technical and printing execution, the editor's alterations were carried out very correctly. The new edition of works of the ethnographer-researcher precedes M.N. Khangalov's 150-year anniversary. Now works of the scientist-ethnographer are the invaluable source on folklore, ethnography, and shamanism of the Buryats.

The book deals with different sides of traditional hunting the Buryats. The author considers the economic value of hunting, its typology and classification, procedure and technology, arms and equipment of the hunter. The general picture of processing and use of hunting production is given. Collective round-up hunting is researched from the point of view of interpretation of reflected ethnographic and historical and cultural realities. Hunting beliefs are also considered.
