The book includes ten texts of one of the most the outstanding Unga’s version of the Buryat heroic epos "Geser". They were recorded directly from folk storytellers-uligershin in the Angara region. This unique monument of the epic creative work of the Buryats reflects features of spiritual life of peoples of Siberia and Central Asia. The texts are published in the retelling, most of them are for the first time taken from the manuscript collection of the Buryat Institute of Social Sciences of Siberian Branch of the USSR Acedemy of Sciences.

В журнал вошли статьи российских и зарубежных ученых, освещающих жизнь и деятельность Ц.Б. Цыдендамбаева, список трудов ученого. Кроме того, представлены статьи по лексике, словообразованию, морфологии монгольских языков.

The 5th issue of the “Actual Problems of Mongolian Studies” is devoted to the 100 anniversary since the birth of the named researcher of Buryats, one of authors of two-volume academic grammar of the Buryat language, the editor-in-chief of the first Buryat-Russian and Russian-Buryat dictionaries, the participant of the large program for studying of dialects of the Buryat language Tsybikzhap Boboyevich Tsydendambayev (1915–1983). The book includes articles of the Russian and foreign scientists, devoted to life and scientific activity of Ts.B. Tsydendambayev, bibliography of the scientist. It also contains papers on lexicon, word formation, morphology of the Mongolian languages.
